Nuberg Wins Indian Fertilizer Project

16.08.2016 -

Nuberg Engineering has been granted an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by National Fertilizers for a sulfur bentonite project in Panipat, India. Work will be carried out on a lumpsum turnkey (LSTK) basis. The value of the contract was not disclosed. The plant is one of three major projects recently announced in Haryana by India’s Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Anant Kumar. It will produce 25,000 t/y of the environmentally friendly fertilizer which is said to boost productivity and yield.

The Noida-based contractor said sulfur bentonite has tremendous potential to improve Indian agriculture. Sulfur deficiency is becoming an increasing problem for agricultural production but the specialty fertilizer can replenish this essential plant nutrient in the soil, enhancing fertility. Nuberg’s chairman Anil Tyagi said the award repositions the company in the niche mixed-fertilizer sector and also strengthens its leadership position in EPC and LSTK projects globally.
