New Generation of Effect Pigments

Merck presented the first group of new Pyrisma effect pigments. The Pyrisma brand stands for a new generation of effect pigments that the company has developed in close cooperation with customers from the coatings industry. Critical to the development were the requests from customers for new pigments with superior benefits in the styling area as well as in the processing of the pigments. With a total of eight titanium dioxide interference pigments, the first group of Pyrisma pigments is now complete. They cover interference tones in yellow, red, magenta, violet, indigo, blue, turquoise and green.
The Pyrisma pigments with their optimized mica particle size distribution and specially developed titanium oxide interference layer encompass the largest possible color space that can be achieved with eight pigments. Because all eight pigments are perfectly matched, a multitude of new, unique tones emerges when mixed together. All the pigments demonstrate excellent resistance to environmental influences and can be used without any problems in outdoor applications, for example in automotive coatings or architectural facade coatings.
