AkzoNobel Presents Your Chlorine and mTA-Salt
At 8th International Chlorine Technology Conference & Exhibition in Budapest, AkzoNobel presented two innovative concepts :
Your Chlorine is intended to re-invent the chlorine supply chain. It is designed to be the ideal solution for companies that need a chlorine supply of intermediate volumes.
General manager of AkzoNobel's Chlor-Alkali business, Martin Riswick, described the advantages of their new service, explaining that AkzoNobel would take care about everything by controlling and operating with their exacting operation standards. This way the customer's safety profile is ought to be enhanced.
Riswick published his concept by guaranteeing a continuous flow of chlorine. With Your Chlorine, AkzoNobel also offers customers an economically viable way to convert the use of outdated mercury plants to state-of-the-art membrane technology.
Industrial Chemicals showcased its innovative mTA-Salt with the ability to save up to 5% of a chlorine production plant's total energy consumption and thus improves its CO2 - footprint.
Peter Kuiipers, general manager of AkzoNobel's Salt business, said that mTA-Salt had become exceedingly attractive to companies running membrane electrolysis. Another benefit that was named in this interview was the increase of the membrane cells lifespan and its production, plus the fact that it enhances the safety profile of chlorine plants.
