DSM Engineering Plastics Demonstrates Sustainability Leadership With Cradle-To-Cradle Certification ...

DSM Engineering Plastics has announced that five of its performance materials have been awarded Cradle to Cradle certification by the internationally renowned sustainable design firm, McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC). The Cradle to Cradle concept, developed by William McDonough and Michael Braungart, aims to eliminate waste entirely by circulating safe and healthful materials within closed loop systems of continuous reuse. more26.02.2010

DSM, MCC to Exchange Polycarbonate and Polyamide Businesses

DSM Engineering Plastics said it has signed the contracts with Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (MCC) enabling DSM to acquire MCC's Novamid polyamide business in exchange for DSM's Xantar polycarbonate business. In May 2009 both companies already announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding for the intended swap. The transaction is subject to various external approvals. Closing is expected in Q2 2010. more
