Led by Brenntag with $10.1 billion in sales (2010), at the end of the list, there was a Canadian distributor named Interatlas Chemical with sales of $10 million.

And not a single one of these 160 companies is headquartered in China. more

Chinese state-owned oil and chemicals company Sinochem received EU regulatory approval on Thursday for its purchase of a 50% stake in Dutch chemicals firm DSM's anti-infectives business. Uralkali Exporter to Supply 600,000 Tons of Output to China

Russian potash producer Uralkali said on Thursday its Belarusian Potash Co (BPC) export joint venture will supply 600,000 tons of output to two major Chinese buyers at $400 per ton. Analysts at Troika Dialog said this was a 14% year-on-year increase. BPC, the joint venture trader for Uralkali and Belaruskali, controls more than 30% of global exports, and the price hike shows that improved demand is once again allowing it to flex its muscles on the international market. more

Potash To Move Some Staff To Canada To Fend Off BHP

Potash Corp. has pledged to move key staff from Chicago to Saskatchewan province as it tries to win political favor by matching BHP Billiton's promise to beef up its Canadian headquarters if it wins control of the fertilizer maker. Saskatoon-based Potash Corp. outlined a series of commitments to the province in a bid to sway political opinion against BHP, which has also promised to move key jobs back to Canada if its $39 billion takeover bid is successful. more
