Foster Wheeler Wins OMV Services Contract

26.03.2014 -

Swiss-based global engineering and construction group Foster Wheeler has signed a five-year alliance agreement with Austrian oil and petrochemicals giant OMV to provide integrated project management and engineering, procurement and construction management services.

Under the deal, the group - soon to be acquired by UK Engineering group AMEC - will provide services on a privileged basis through specific work orders for the OMV refineries located in Burghausen, Germany, and Schwechat, Austria. These include front-end loading for projects of any size as well as engineering, procurement and construction management services for projects up to a specified threshold limit with respect to Total Installed Cost.

"We are very pleased to have signed this five-year agreement. It reinforces the excellent working relationship that we have established with OMV over a number of years across a number of its European assets," Foster Wheeler CEO Roberto Penno said.

Separately, Foster Wheeler has announced plans to acquire Siemens Environmental Systems and Services business from Siemens Energy. Terms of the deal expected to close in the second quarter of 2014 were not disclosed.
