BASF Lifts FM on Polyamide Products

01.10.2015 -

BASF has lifted the force majeure it declared on certain products in the polyamide chain, including hexamethylenediamine (HMD), AH salt, PA 6.6 base polymer and compounds, in June of this year and has begun accepting new orders.

The supply restrictions were attributed to technical problems in production at the group’s Seal Sands complex in the UK that led to a subsequent declaration of force majeure downstream for the compounds marketed as Ultramid and Capron.

With all problems resolved, BASF said the supply situation has now improved to the point where the FM could be removed.
