Azelis Takes Over Italy’s Came

03.02.2021 - Continuing its acquisition spree of recent weeks, Azelis is to take over Italy’s Came Chemical Mineral and Engineering for an undisclosed sum. Headquartered in Milan, Came specializes in distributing chemicals for friction and sintering applications, the coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers (CASE) segment and cosmetics.

The transaction was expected to close last month. All Came employees will join Azelis.

“The acquisition of Came will increase our market presence and overall product offering, and it will generate many cross-selling opportunities,” said Marco Gerosa, regional managing director of Azelis Italy. “There is an excellent strategic fit that allows us to provide an expanded product offering and customer reach on one side, while making us more attractive to our existing principals on the other.”

Verena Cepparuloa, Came’s founder and managing director added: “Joining Azelis will allow us to leverage their global network and high operational standards, and due to very interesting synergies, it will also provide us with access to additional market sectors where we were not present before.”

Previous significant acquisitions for Azelis Italy in recent years include Deafarma in 2019 and Ametech in 2016.

Outside of Italy, Azelis made two acquisitions last month, one in the Philippines and the other in Vietnam, while in December 2020, it agreed a purchase in Australia.
