Nuberg EPC Wins Fertilizer Project

Indian engineering and construction company Nuberg EPC has been awarded a contract by Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore (FACT) to build a brownfield NPK/diammonium phosphate (DAP) plant at Ernakulam in Kerala.

The plant will have capacity of 1,650 t/d, using technology licensed from Spain’s Incro. Once complete – scheduled by mid-2023 – FACT’s total capacity will rise to 3,650 t/d.

Nuberg is providing engineering, procurement and construction services on a lumpsum turnkey basis. The value of the contract was not disclosed.

The contractor described the project award as another milestone for the company, citing other business wins last year that include a caustic soda plant in Turkey; sulfuric acid plants in Egypt and Ethiopia, hydrogen and bioethanol plants in India, and a hydrogen peroxide facility in Uzbekistan.
