Polyvantis Opens Shanghai Technology Center

Polyvantis has opened a new Technology Center in Shanghai, China, to unite R&D, commercial, and manufacturing teams and accelerate innovation for optical and electrical film solutions, marking a major milestone in its global sustainable growth strategy.

Polyvantis, a global leader in high-quality semi-finished acrylic and polycarbonate products, announced the opening of its new Technology Center in Shanghai, China. The launch marks a significant milestone in the company’s journey and underscores its commitment to innovation, customer partnership, and sustainable growth.

After nearly three years of planning, the Shanghai Technology Center opened its doors on July 14. The center brings together cross-functional teams from R&D, commercial, and manufacturing to collaborate more closely and respond faster to evolving market demands. By uniting these capabilities under one roof, Polyvantis aims to deliver integrated solutions that address emerging challenges and accelerate innovation across key industries.

The new facility complements Polyvantis’ four existing technical centers in Germany, the Netherlands, and the United States. Together, these centers form a global innovation network focused on advancing the performance and sustainability of semi-finished materials. The Shanghai location will serve as a Center of Excellence for optical and electrical films, supporting fast-growing markets such as electronics, displays, and transportation.

As we grow, we remain focused on building partnerships and creating opportunities that benefit our customers, our people, and the industries we serve.”

The Shanghai Technology Center strengthens Polyvantis’ ability to work more closely with customers in Asia and beyond—developing new applications, enhancing product performance, and advancing sustainable innovations across its portfolio of trusted brands, including plexiglas and lexan film and sheet.

Polyvantis combines material science experience with new investments in its Shanghai Technology Center, which consolidates research, commercial, and manufacturing capabilities to address evolving demands in the performance plastics industry.
