Umicore: US plant in Tulsa up and running

On January 1, 2014 Umicore Precious Metals Chemistry USA opened and began production at the new state-of-the art production plant in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Product supply began in Tulsa as the product transition from the former site in South Plainfield, N.J. takes place.

The new North American manufacturing operation in Tulsa is capable of producing the entire Umicore catalyst portfolio from pilot to commercial-scale. This reflects Umicore's ongoing commitment to provide our customers in the North American market with a thorough and unique range of inorganic and advanced organometallic products in a timely and cost-effective manner.

In turn, Umicore provides customers access to modern chemistries to help their endeavors to provide one-of-a kind, innovative products to expand into existing markets or to enter new fields.

Umicore's catalysts allow customers to perform novel chemistries including metathesis, cross-coupling, asymmetric catalysis, and polymerization in fields such as pharmaceuticals, industrial chemicals and silicones and adhesives.

All products will be available from Tulsa by March 31, 2014.
