Japan’s Fujifilm has agreed to acquire Entegris’ electronic chemicals business for $700 million. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2023, subject to regulatory approval and other customary conditions.
For its annual report "Value Creation in Chemicals 2022 – Building Resilience as the Crisis Unfolds," the strategy consultancy Boston Consulting Group examined the performance of leading international chemical companies between 2017 and 2021. The results show that the chemical industry, even in difficult times, has outperformed other sectors.
The Shell/ExxonMobil petroleum additives joint venture Infineum has agreed to acquire the Pipeline and Industrial Materials (PIM) business of US company Entegris. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter, subject to regulatory clearance and the usual conditions.
