Henkel Hikes US Sanitizer Output

17.09.2020 - Germany’s Henkel has announced plans to invest $23 million to expand its range of Dial liquid hand soap and hand sanitizers in the US. The company will install new equipment and carry out a series of improvements that will increase production at its sites in Geneva, New York and West Hazleton, Pennsylvania.

An investment of $17.3 million will be made in Geneva on new equipment and technology to support production of Dial hand sanitizers and foaming hand wash, while $2.5 million will be spent at West Hazleton. As part of the overall project, Henkel has also spent $3 million on extra equipment to support on-site production at both sites.

Some aspects of the new technology will be installed in October and operational in November 2020, and the remainder will be up and running by June 2021.

To also support the expansion at Geneva, which will contribute 45-55% of the plant’s total production, Henkel will create 180 new jobs. In addition, the company will rebrand the Geneva facility, which it acquired in 2018 from Zotos Professional, to reflect the expansion of its operations beyond haircare products.
