LyondellBasell Wins China Spheripol PP Contract
The complex, which will comprise four PP lines each producing 500,000 t/y, will be built in Erdos, Inner Mongolia.
Neil Nadalin, LyondellBasell's director of licensing, described the award for the four lines as "an outstanding achievement in a single production complex."
Inner Mongolia Baofeng New Material is a fully owned subsidiary of Ningxia Baofeng, which in March also selected LyondellBasell as the technology licensor for a PP/PE complex in Yingchuan City. This complex will comprise a 500,000 t/y PP plant, a 400,000 t/y HDPE plant and a 250,000 t/y LDPE/ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer line.
A timescale for the projects has not been disclosed.
