US contractor Jacobs Engineering has won a contract to provide engineering services to Mitsubishi Polyester Film for an expansion project. The American subsidiary of Japan’s Mitsubishi Plastics is spending $100 million to install an additional production line for polyester film at its site in Greenville County, South Carolina, USA.

Mitsubishi said the extra capacity would support its business growth in both US and overseas markets. The project is expected to be complete by late 2017. Mitsubishi Plastics has other polyester film plants in Germany, Japan, China and Indonesia.
